I like how a style can be disabled and enabled again so quickly and easily.

Regarding the plugins i was not aware of them, well apart from YSlow, thanks for bringing attention to them.

Agreed, Firebug is a developer’s best fried, but in some cases it should be called Firebuggy considering how much it slows down Firefox (and sometimes crashes it if you have way too many tabs open).
Only solution is to sometimes disable it from the addons manager because even if you set it to disabled, it’s still causing problems.

Good article! I love Firebug.

YSlow is a nice extended add-on and the built-in console is great for getting detailed information about bugs, etc.

Sharepoint just released a Firebug extension called FireScope. It adds a reference tab to see element definitions and browser support.
