“jQuery for Absolute Beginners” Video Series

So everywhere you look, you see “jQuery this” and “jQuery that”. For the last year or so, this library has been the darling of the Javascript world. But do you feel that you just can’t seem to learn the dang thing? Do you hate how the existing tutorials assume that you know WAY more than you actually do? If this rings true for you, I can help.

Starting today, I’m launching a daily video series that will teach you PRECISELY how to use the jQuery library in your own projects. We’ll start out by downloading the framework, creating our first function, examining syntax, and more. Every day, I’ll post a five-ten minute “training regimen” that expands on what you’ve already learned. So there’s no reason to fight it anymore! Learn this dang thing and start earning more money on ThemeForest.net with your new-found skills.

Day 1: Downloading the Library

To begin, we need to download the jQuery library. After that, we’ll get started with creating our first function.

Hey, Jeff. I have a request for you, assuming you haven’t already done this. Can you do a screencast of using JQuery to have a button or link that you press that clones a table row, creating unique attributes so that when the form is sent to the database, the fields get filled appropriately? I hope that made sense. What I’m trying to do is have a form and the form is within a table. I want the user to be able to add another “attribute” (my table is going to have an “attribute” in the row with a level and they are supposed to be able to add more). I think using JQuery would work, I just don’t know how to do it. Can you do a screencast of this for me? I want it to make all the attributes for the table tow that is cloned to be unique s the form can be submitted into my database when they press submit. If you’ve already done something similar, can you send me a link to it?

Download this little guy from here. I’ve been trying to learn javascript lately and watched your tutorials (which are great by the way.). Basically I am trying to create a photo gallery through javascript but the files I’m working it’s doing what I want it to do. I can provide you original files that i’ve been working on so you can understand more of what I mean. I’m not asking you to write the java script for me I just want you to take a look if I’m doing something wrong when you have a moment.

open up folder chapter 7 and file called “complete_7.2″.
