Diving into PHP: Video Series
Today marks the beginning of a brand new series that will show you EXACTLY how to get started with PHP. Just as with the “jQuery for Absolute Beginners” series, we’ll start from scratch and slowly work our way up to some more advanced topics. I hope you enjoy it. As always – feel free to make requests via the comments form.
We’ll get started by downloading WAMP/MAMP and echoing out a simple string to verify that PHP is working on our system.

Keep Subscribing ppl let’s support Jeff as much as we can
Thanks Jeff a lot for another great series. :worship:
P.S: After this series please do one on Ruby or ASP.net
I can ‘t watch it!!!
Jeff,
When will you add the new videos to to the “diving-into-php-video-series” web page. Having all of the videos on the same page makes it very convienient to watch them. Day 11 is the last link but I know you just made a new one.
This and the jquery series is the best I’ve found. Thanks for taking time to make them.
I just wanted to say thanks for creating these videos. I have been working on learning PHP for about a month now and these videos are by far the best training tool I have come by. You have a rare talent not found very often of talking in a way that makes sense. <– haha
Some people are cut out to be great teachers and I know you are one of those people. Keep up the good work.
I think rather than downloading server it would be better to use a free service like http://www.000webhost.com/171842.html because you get access to PHP and MySQL without any hassle.
Just a thought really.
Please, could you kindly make these lectures free for download so that I can actually learn while I am offline? I really pay so much to be online and this limits my learning speed and ability.
Mr. Jeffrey
thanks a lot, really the best series of video I have found,
but, this series no longer work since three days.
please help us.
Does this series end at 11? Would love to have more.
First off I want to say that this is a great tutorial. I used to know alot about php, but after a while without coding anything alot has been erased from my memory. This is just great what you’re doing
Now.. Over to what this comment is really about
I’ve been using WAMP for a long time, but there are some flaws every now and then, so I deleted it and installed apache, php and mysql separately..
I saw someone here had issues with the “localhost” not working.. same happened to me and solved it with 127.0.0.0…
Also another bug i’ve found (and also the reason i stopped using it) is that WAMP sometimes has problems with path’s. Not sure why this problem occurs, and if someone else has experienced it, but it happened to me.. anyone else experienced this?
It continues it is just hard to navigate this whole blog/screencast section. Someone should create a single page that link to all this great content.
Sorry, I have to say I can NOT see any of these screencasts. I tried in Firefox, Chrome and IE, all failed. Can anyone tell me why? Many thanks.
I’m having trouble downloading the WAMP server. I’ve tried the direct link, one of the mirrors, and it still keeps telling me “This application has failed to start because php_mbstring.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”
I was wondering if anyone could help me out here.
Hi
… Not here nor on netplus
Wondering what has happened to your site at jeff-way.com?
The other day u found an all-round tutorial on how you made the site, with all sorts of nifty stuff, like JQuery and it was supposed to end up becoming your new site, but now i can’t find it anywhere
Finally i found a tutorial that covered a lot of the things i want to learn, but it has dissappeared… And so has your site on the web.
