I was reading StockXchng (sxc.hu ) terms and it says you cannot use any of the images in templates, even the ones you buy at regular price. You have to purchase a special license which is much more expensive in order to use in templates. I guess it is need for the templates you want to submit to themeforest.

Good article. People have to give credit or abide by the restrictions and whatever is called for by the author. More difficult in the wild wild web, but still a part of being ethical and professional. Although I have to say no one is truly original because everything throughout history was inspired or built upon previous works including every code and art work.

My question is where is the limit. For example if i take a image from google and edit it, changing apariencie, color levels etc.

For example if i take a piece of the pic, not even all the pic, and i do those changes i've still broken the copyrights?

I'm not trying to find the hole in the rule, but would be nice know just where is that line.

Thanks

PS: i certainly believe that the copyleft is a good way to avoid those things.

Hope it would be useful for other fellow freelance designers.

Another thing to be wary about if font licences. For example, some font (like h&f's Gotham, for example) require an extra licence if you want to use them with SIFR-type techniques.
