It’s hard to believe it’s almost a new decade, and with 2010 just around the corner it’s time to get celebrating the holiday season. There’s plenty happening around the Envato network of sites, read on to find out about it all!
Perhaps one of the most often created threads within our forums concerns our Internet Explorer 6 compliance requirement. Today, as an early Christmas present to many, I’m pleased to announce that IE6 compliance will now be purely optional for authors – though still an encouraged one.

The last 9 months we’ve been working hard on the financial parts of our system. During this time we’ve been building a better, more bulletproof accounting system into the app. It’s the kind of super important work that for the most part nobody notices, but ensures everything is working as it should. Along the way we’ve also been working on some other aspects which WILL be noticeable, and I’d like to tell you about three of them:
I’m pleased to announce the launch of our newest category on ThemeForest: email templates! If you happen to be in need of an email client friendly newsletter for your business, we’ve got you covered. For $8 – $10 dollars, you can avoid the hassles of inline styles, email compatibility, and tables! Why rip your hair out when a ten dollar bill can solve the problem?
An enormous, awesomeness-filled congratulations goes out to ThemeForest’s very own, Kriesi! Last month, Kriesi smashed the record for most sales in a single month, across ALL of the Envato marketplaces, as he accrued a whopping 954 sales! This makes him a superstar among superstars — and at twenty-seven years old, I’m in awe of such talent. Please join me in sending out a much deserved congratulations to one of our very own: Kriesi.
With the closing of every month comes the arrival of a new free file! This month’s template comes courtesy of DDStudios. Please join me in thanking him for providing us with this beautiful PSD theme for free!
If you like the work of a particular author, why not follow them? By following authors, you can see their newest items on the right hand side of the home page when you’re logged in. It’s an easy way to keep up to date with the newest and best items on all the marketplaces every time you log in.
How do I follow authors?
To follow a particular author, simply visit their user page and click the Follow button on the right hand side. Once you are following an author, you will begin to see their items for sale on your home page within the grid to the right hand side of the page. Simply click on the thumbnail to view the full item page.
If you no longer wish to follow an author (ie. no longer see their items on your home page), go back to their user page and click Unfollow. Simple as that!
How can I encourage others to follow me?
If you’re an author, having as many people following you as possible is a great way to gain lots of exposure for your files! If you want to request that members follow you, you can use the Follow Link:
All you need to do is place your username where it says [usernamehere] and any member who clicks on the link will automatically be following you!
Please ensure you make it clear what the “Follow” link is for whenever using it.
Don’t forget to refer to the Envato Wiki if you have additional questions.
