I noticed a thread on the forums that discussed exactly how to implement a working contact form into a site template. So I thought to myself, “What better way to demonstrate the process than with a screencast!”

Including a Theme Options page for your theme is one of the best ways to increase ease-of-use for managing a complex theme. However, a few quick Google searches later and most people give up. Such a great inclusion for theme design appears to have such little documentation, that it appears to be one of those heavily guarded secrets which only the crème de la crème of designers hold the key to.
In this article we will be incorporating an options panel for the ‘WordPress Classic’ theme. The methods you learn will allow you to very easily integrate it into an existing theme you’re working on.

With jQuery popularity on the rise it seems like everyone is jumping on board with the lightweight and easy to learn Javascript framework. When I first started learning jQuery, I had a general fear of jQuery plugins. After all, I was already trying to learn one new thing, could I really handle piling on trying to work with plugins too?

Last week, the WordPress blog posted the first screenshots of the new admin section that will be shipping with WordPress 2.7. Though many have scorned the layout as being too different, too soon, the majority of the community has welcomed the changes with open arms.

Some of you have expressed some confusion with what exactly should be included in the help files that you create for your themes. To ease concerns, I’ve created a sample text file that you can download and use as a template.
The template includes some general text to serve as an example. You’ll be expected, if you choose to work off of this template, to expand upon the sections listed with the appropriate information. If you have any unique features in your particular theme, be sure to touch on those subjects.

Using WordPress as a CMS has become pretty common recently since it makes a perfect platform for most small-to-medium corporate websites. It doesn’t quite offer the more advanced details of Joomla, ExpressionEngine or Drupal; but what it lacks in advanced features, it more-than makes up for in the usability arena!
The recently re-designed 10 Downing Street website – home of the British PM – is running WordPress and make a bloody good job of it!
